The Oaks Brunch
The Oaks Brunch is one of the two major fundraisers for the Kentucky Museum of Art and Craft. Held on the morning of the annual Kentucky Oaks race on May 4th, 2012 at the historic Brown Hotel, this event is recognized as one of the oldest special events in the city and has garnered quite a following from guests who have made it one of their Derby traditions. Starting at 9:30 am, guests arrive and sip specialty brunch cocktails while browsing unique artwork, fine jewelry, and Couture hats in the Museum’s Gallery Shop set-up in the lobby of the Brown Hotel. In addition, guests enjoy bidding on exciting and unique silent auction items. The celebration then moves into the Crystal Ballroom where guests sit down to a delectable three-course brunch. This event celebrates Kentucky at its best and is a lovely way to begin the Derby weekend! All proceeds of the Oaks Brunch support the programming and exhibitions that benefit approximately 100,000 people each year.
