"My ceramic works, architectural, functional ware or vessels and planters, serve as canvases for my painting. The vessel is my primary source of inspiration for this purpose. I am invigorated by making challenging and demanding forms on the wheel and also by the even greater challenge of painting in the round on a three-dimensional object. I am fulfilled by the creation of work that strives to successfully meet the challenges presented by combining these two avenues of expression in clay." "My work is a means of synthesizing the physical, emotional and spiritual aspects of my existence. The pieces are an honest attempt to put together what is in my head and heart through the physical efforts of creating a three-dimensional object. Through the potter's wheel, insights are attained concerning form; through the painting, insights are attained into my self."
