The Kentucky Art and Craft Foundation (KACF) is a non-profit
organization,
founded in 1981 by Mary Norton Shands, KACF
Chairperson
Emeritus, and Phyllis George, KACF Founder. Its
mission
is to advance and continue the art and craft heritage of
Kentucky
through the support and education of craft artists and
the
education of the public. The Foundation is supported in part
by
the Fund for the Arts and the Kentucky Arts Council, a state
agency
of the Education, Arts and Humanities Cabinet.

History:
Lois Mateus and Rita Steinberg conceived the Bourbon Ball in
1985. Since then,
more than $2.7 million has been raised to
underwrite the programs of the Kentucky Art and Craft
Foundation.
