Kentucky is rich in natural resources and has an amazing variety of artists who live and work in all corners of the Commonwealth. We represent over 400 individual artists in our sales gallery and work with more than 200 artists a year in exhibitions, workshops, demonstrations and educational projects.

Artists in Kentucky are among the finest in the country. Stephen Powell from Danville has one of the most sophisticated hot glass studios in the region, located at Centre College.

One of the state's favorite artists is 82-year-old Marvin Finn of Louisville. For over 5 decades, Marvin has been using his creative imagination to create a menagerie of beasts from wood, plastic and found objects. His work has been seen in two exhibitions: African American Folk Art from Kentucky (September 1999) and Master Maker: Marvin Finn (January 2000).

The Rude Osolnik Award

Every year, an artist receives the Rude Osolnik Award. Rude Osolnik, a nationally acclaimed wood turner from Berea, Kentucky, devoted his life to the development of his craft. In his name, this prestigious award recognizes artists for their contributions to the craft community, preservation of craft traditions through teaching and sharing, and exemplary workmanship.
