LETTER FROM THE PRESIDENT

Welcome to the Kentucky Museum of Art and Craft!  Now in our 27th year on Main Street, we continue to expand and improve our exhibitions, gallery shop, and education programs.  Although we’ve grown tremendously since opening our doors in 1981, we remain firmly dedicated to our original mission – to support and promote the art and craft excellence in Kentucky.

We are committed to staying at the forefront of evolving trends in art and craft with cutting edge exhibits and programs. Upcoming shows include New Blue: New and Emerging Kentucky Artists, a show that launches the first of what will become a biennial exhibition at KMAC. With this exhibition we have gathered a group of artists whose work represents fresh, creative and bold interpretations of art and craft media. Made to Deceive: The Art of Trompe L’oeil will be another extraordinary show, featuring works that are masterpieces of illusion. Coming in the  summer of 20008, the Museum will host Tradition & Innovation: American Masterpieces of Southern Craft and Traditional Art, a traveling exhibit from the Southern Arts Federation. Please see the exhibitions section of our website for more detailed information about upcoming shows.

The museum’s many programs would not be possible without the generous support of our members, donors, and corporate sponsors. Thank you for your contributions. If you are new to the museum, I encourage you to get involved! If you are not yet a member, please stop by and chat with our dedicated staff to learn more about the benefits of museum membership.

Thank you for your interest in our organization. We invite you to spend time discovering the beauty and diversity of Kentucky art and craft.

Sincerely,

Eric Doninger

President of the Board
