Middle School Program

The Kentucky Museum of Art and Craft's Curriculum Program is a great opportunity for interdisciplinary learning while meeting Arts and Humanities, Math, Social Studies, Reading, and Writing Core Content goals!

If you can't take your class on an educational field trip, but want them to have an experience of a lifetime, sign up for Symbols: Emblems of Our Culture and Ourselves!

Your students will study with a nationally recognized professional artist who will lead them in creating a personalized symbol, that will be printed on fabric creating a unique textile composition. The program includes:

  • Four 50 minute classes with a professional artist
  • One copy of a teacher curriculum packet
  • One master copy of a student curriculum packet
  • Four color overhead transparencies
  • All art materials needed for the project
  • Experiences with authentic Adinkra stamps and cloth from Ghana

For an additional fee, the professional artist will take examples of each participating student's work to create a beautiful wall hanging for your school.
