"Painting can reflect nature not only as an image but also as an event. Actions and sounds may be translated to canvas in the context of a scene as one may find in a play or a nature show. Sounds, movements and textures are integrated through brushstrokes, drips, splatters… the sensations of mud or rain are close to that of the paint and are often represented in reference to each other.

The theme of nature appears as more than just imagery in my paintings. It acts as a vehicle that binds my imagination, subject matter, and materials that are involved in process. I regard each of these as equally important and interchangeable in the meaning behind the paintings.”
