Mauritius Garden V Detail

As my work has developed over the years, I have continually used the duality of the hidden and the exposed to explore a physical and emotional sense of place so familiar we barely notice the nuances that are so extraordinary. It is within this familiar place that my work has grown.

            The connection between the weaving processes used and the resulting imagery has been as essential and ongoing part of this exploration. The slow pace of hand-manipulated techniques, which allows for thoughtful contemplation while working, has helped me make this connection as thoughts and surfaces are layered, imagery is rooted in solitary moments, and fragments combine to become one whole.
