These paintings were created from summer visits to Maine. They are about the physical reality of the site, the clarity of the light specific to each location, and the local color that so often so strongly defines each site. They are in the truest sense my direct and spontaneous reaction to the “sense of place” which often creates a fundamentally powerful and yes mysterious impact upon ones view of self in relation to the world and the greater universe beyond.
